Perch proves that sometimes simple can be brilliant. It is functional in collaborative areas as well as smaller workstations. When the conversation ends, Perch moves easily under the counter, into the corner, or along the wall, waiting patiently out of the way until it’s needed again.
Simplicity is sometimes the most difficult thing to achieve. Perch is first a sculpture, and then a stool. Inspired by the extreme minimalism of Sculptor Donald Judd and Painter Ellsworth Kelley, this simple stool becomes functional art. Its sculptural form was conceived after multiple prototypes, where the perfect angle was determined in order to create a visually intriguing piece. The slanted columns are interesting while still maintaining the function of a stool — to provide a comfortable seat, reserving a place for conversation and rest. Its simplicity, variety of colors and textures, and mobility allow for a multitude of uses — as an office guest chair, a café counter stool, a collaborative working space seat, or for impromptu meetings.
